

The ultimate goal of each match is to smash your opponent off the stage, which usually requires some significant walloping. The higher their damage percentage is, the further they'll get hit when attacked. Instead of a standard life bar, players' health is represented by a percentage, which goes up in numerical value as they take damage. While Super Smash Bros Melee is easily one of the best fighting games of all time, it plays like no other fighting game before it. Multiplayer matches can be modified to your desire, allowing you to team up with friends, compete in a free-for-all, or even battle against AI-controlled opponents. You'll battle against Bowser while playing as Mario, fight off an army of Kirbys and Yoshis, and even do battle against the cast of The Legend Of Zelda. There are also over 50 fights to complete in Event Mode, each one representing a fun concept or moment in the Nintendo universe. Those looking for a more pure fighting experience can try out Classic Mode, which pits your chosen character against a classic arcade ladder of opponents. On the single-player side, gamers can enjoy the brand new Adventure mode, taking you through 12 exciting stages, complete with boss battles and exciting mini-games. Entertainment tradeoffs are only acceptable if the optimum solution is boring.Use items and stage hazards whenever possible. KOs should involve a high degree of variety.The run must be acceptable for publication on this site (that is: beats all existing records, contains no obvious optimization flaws, etc).Make a run that is entertaining to both the TAS crowd (who value creative optimization strategies) and the Smash crowd (who value style).Plays on the hardest difficulty (Very Hard).

The last frame necessary to beat the game is 31,364 (8 min 42.73 sec), but for entertainment purposes I played through the credits as well.
